If you are familiar with Mallorcan wine, then it’s likely you have heard of Binissalem. It is the most well known wine area of Mallorca. This small town in central Mallorca is surrounded by some of the island’s best vineyards and bodegas. In September, the whole region celebrates the harvest with its very own Wine Fair (Festa des Vermar). Practically everyone in the town and many neighbors from surrounding villages, like Santa Maria, dress up in their harvesting suits and participate in different contests. Binissalem, like Santa María, also has a train station making it ideal for those who want easy access and don’t want to be too far away from life in Palma.
